Flashback Prom
This will be a fun filled night out for the girls! Mark the date on your calendar--Friday night, June 22nd at 7 pm. All alumnae, Nerinx moms and friends are invited. Come dressed in your prom dress or relax in jeans. There will be Bunco in the cafeteria and line dancing in the EAC. Beverages and snacks served all evening. $25 per person and if you bring three guests you get in free. The first 100 to register will receive a quilted cosmetic bag. TKO productions will provide the DJ just like when we were in high school!

50 Plus Mass & Luncheon
Invitations are in the mail for a special luncheon to honor those who graduated from Nerinx Hall and Loretto Academy between 1924 to 1962. Mass will be held in the Heagney Theatre and followed by a light lunch will be served. For additional information contact abarrow@nerinxhs.org

AuctioNerinx 2012
Thank you to the incredible volunteers and guests who attended AuctioNerinx on March 10th! The oral auction set a new record for Nerinx with $88,000. The fund-a-need raised money to air condition the gym. Yes, after 88 years, the gym will finally be bearable during the hot summer days that now stretch into fall. If you could not attend the auction, but would like to donate to the fund click here.

The spirit of Christmas is all around us and the practice of giving gifts can sometimes be stressful. An easy gift...one size fits all...is a gift to Nerinx Hall. This gift honors someone you love and also allows you a tax benefit. Consider not standing in line and make your gift online.

Additional Tips for Charitable Year-End Giving:

• Gifts by check are considered complete this year as long as dated and mailed by December 31, even if the charity does not cash the check until January 2012.
• Charitable commitments cannot be deducted unless actually satisfied by December 31.

IRA Charitable Rollovers

Current tax legislation allows individuals age 70 ½ or older to make tax-free distributions from Traditional or Roth Individual Retirement Account (IRA) assets to certain qualified charitable organizations, such as Nerinx Hall. Those interested may request direct transfers from their IRA to Nerinx during 2011 without reporting it as taxable income.

 

The deadline for charitable rollovers is December 31, 2011. Contact your account administrator to request a check be made payable to Nerinx Hall, Tax Identification #430763375 and delivered to:

School Begins with 629 students
August 16th is the first day of school at Nerinx Hall and we are proud to welcome 629 wonderful students. Nerinx also welcomes several new faculty members. Everyone is looking forward to an exciting year.

Loretto Academt Alumnae Return to Their Alma Mater
On Sunday afternoon, October 23, graduates of the former Loretto Academy, which closed in 1952, returned to their alma mater.  The former “Loretto Girls” shared reminiscences as they greeted old friends at a reception hosted by the Dominican Friars, who will soon occupy the former Academy when it becomes St. Dominic Priory.  The Academy building, located at 3407 Lafayette Avenue, served as a day care center, a convent, and housing for single mothers with children after Loretto Academy closed.  Located across I-44 from the Compton Heights Water Tower, the property was purchased by the Domincans in 2010.

Join fellow Nerinx Hall Alumnae for a professional networking event at Llywelyn’s pub in Webster Groves on Wednesday, May 23 from 6-8 pm. 

This event will provide a forum for reconnecting and expanding your network among colleagues in your own profession as well as building partnerships with those in other fields.
